3 Sisters

by Anton Chekhov
Performed at the Greenwich Playhouse March 2002

3 Sisters by Anton Chekhov - Performed by the Galleon Theatre Company at the Greenwich Playhouse The world wide fascination and popularity of Chekhov's plays continues to endure the longing and disappointment expressed in his work touches, moves and challenges contemporary audiences.

Chekhov's characters speak as if they have lost their way; lost faith in themselves and hope in the future; but simultaneously persuade that whilst they continue to dream they still matter - they still have hope.

In all his work he equates worldy success with the loss of the soul and reflects on the timeless predicament of the "little man".
